Kate Holley
Head Athletic Trainer
Dayton High School

Kate is a new member of St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine and will continue to provide coverage to Dayton High School where she has been since 2013.   She is a nationally certified athletic trainer and is responsible for the treatment and care of all athletes here at Dayton.  Her job includes, but is not limited to the prevention, evaluation and management of injuries including coordinating MD and physical therapy appointment.  She is also responsible for all first aid and emergency care of the athletes.

Before practice, Kate makes sure that all the athletes are taken care of from taping, bracing, and any first aid and wound care that may be needed for all the athletes.   Then during practice, she evaluates injuries and determines an appropriate intervention and management plan including whether or not to refer athletes to a physician. Kate spends a lot of her time with communication between the injured athlete, physician, coach and family to help insure that everyone involved understands the plan for returning the athlete back to practice and competition safely.  She attends all soccer, football and volleyball home games in the fall, home basketball games in the winter, and home baseball and softball games in the spring. She also likes to support her Greendevils on the road for their big games!

Kate attended Georgetown College where she began studying Athletic Training and then transferred and graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2013 and in July of that year received her certification from the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). She began her career as a full- time employee of St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine when they took over coverage of Dayton High School in 2016.
